John Sandurski


Former member of Introdans (The Netherlands), Staatstheater am Gaertnerplatz (Germany) and Classical Ballet Lecturer at Griffith University/Queensland Conservatorium. 

John has taught at Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Dance School of Excellence, Australian Conservatoire of Ballet affiliate schools and as Guest Teacher for Expressions Dance Company.

John holds a Degree in Ballet Pedagogy (Vaganova Technique) from the Hoschule fur Musik und Theater Muenchen (University of Music and Performing Arts Munich), and has trained at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and the Australian Ballet School. John is a registered ACB Teacher.


Nickely Burke 


Artistic Director and Choreographer of Biserk Dance Company (UK). Former Artistic Director Oxford Contemporary Dance School (UK). Nickely graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Canberra, Australia and has a Diploma in Dance from Trinity College Laban (UK). A Contemporary dance lecturer, Nickely also teaches Contemporary dance and Jazz for the Half-Day and Full Time Program and holds her TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. 


Artistic Advisors

 Christine Walsh (AM)  

A Principal Dancer in Australia and internationally, Christine Walsh's professional ballet and teaching career has spanned over 40 years. Trained originally in Sydney, Christine Walsh graduated from the Australian Ballet School and rose to the rank of Principal Artist with the Australian Ballet where she danced all the major Principal roles in the ballets Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, Onegin, La Fille Mal Gardee, Coppelia, Don Qiuxote and many others. Christine also danced Principal roles with Roland Petit Ballet de Marseille including Carmen and Coppelia. 

Since retiring from her professional dancing career in 1989, Christine has concentrated her efforts on teaching, coaching, choreographing and directing productions with her theatrical production company The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. She founded the classical ballet school The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet in 1991 and authored her own classical ballet training and assessment program now called Ballet Conservatoire. She advises and coaches MCB students in their career development. 


Ricardo Ella

A former actor, stuntman, and Martial Arts instructor, Philippine born Ricardo Ella began ballet training at the age of 19 and 3 years later received a private company scholarship, choosing to study at the Australian Ballet School.  

Ricardo's dancing career has encompassed Dance Concert Company (Principal Dancer), Dance Theatre Philippines (Principal Dancer), The Royal New Zealand Ballet (Principal Artist) and The Australian Ballet Company (Coryphee). He danced principal roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Garth Welch's Othello, Graeme Murphy's Orpheus, Andre Prokovsky's Bacchus and Ariadne and Jiri Kylian's Transfigured Night. He has also danced solo roles in The Three Musketeers, Spartacus and many other ballets. For two years Ricardo was the Principal male dancer in the original Australian musical production of Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's The Phantom of the Opera. 

Ricardo advises MCB with operations and productions advice. 


Valmai Roberts 

Classical Ballet Lecturer and Training Coordinator

Valmai is a former member of the Australian Ballet, soloist of Joffrey Ballet and classical ballet lecturer of NYU School of the Arts, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Hispanico in New York, the Victorian College of the Arts in Australia, and London Contemporary School of Dance and Richard Alston Dance Company in Great Britain. 

Currently a Ballet Conservatoire Registered Teacher & Examiner, Valmai is a Classical Ballet Lecturer at MCB and holds her TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. 


Chiara Ferri

Classical Lecturer

A former dancer with the English National Ballet, Chiara started her dance training in Florence Italy with Marga Nativo, later being accepted into the Academie de Danse Classique in Monte Carlo to study under Marika Besobrasova. After graduating in 1993 she was offered a contract with the Stadttheater in Bern and the Stadttheater Luzern Switzerland.

In 1996 Chiara moved to London to dance with the English National Ballet performing roles in many of the major ballet productions and touring worldwide with the Company until 2004.

Following her time in London she travelled to Copenhagen Denmark to join the Pantomime Theatre.

For the past 10 years she has been teaching classical ballet to students of all ages. Chiara has taught at the Performing Arts school in Auckland NZ, worked as Ballet Mistress for the Royal New Zealand Ballet, taught at City Dance Centre, the Melbourne School of Classical Dance and various other dance schools in Melbourne.

Chiara teaches part and full-time at MCB, teaching the Vaganova method as well as teaching the Ballet Conservatoire Training and Examination Program. Chiara is a registered teacher and examiner of the Ballet Conservatoire syllabus. She is also the Assistant Director/Dancer of Dancebourne Arts based in Melbourne.


Cultural Dance Lecturer

Melanie Moravski 

Artistic Director of Lehenda Ukrainian Dance Company and School of Dance. Melanie is a Graduate of Bachelor of Performing Arts (Monash University), majoring in Drama and Theatre Studies, minoring in Contemporary Dance (Deakin University) 

She trained with Virsky, Ukrainian dance company (Ukraine) and is the M.C.B Character Lecturer. She was awarded "Honoured Artist of Ukraine". Melanie is also a registered Ballet Conservatoire teacher and holds her TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. 

Classical Ballet and Contemporary Lecturer 

Stacey McCallum 

Former dancer and actor with the Sydney Dance Company. Guest dancer with Bangarra Dance Company (Atlanta tour) Former member of Indian Shakespeare Company. Stacey performed in Baz Luhrmann’s film Moulin Rouge, was a dancer for Opera Australia and has performed for Queensland Ballet as an actor in Cinderella and teaching in their Education Outreach Programme.  Stacey is a Lecturer of the MCB Classical Ballet Training and Assessment Program and is a registered Ballet Conservatoire teacher. She holds her TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.
